The Mango Tree, Draycott - History
After the unbelievable success of The Mango Tree in Hanley we decided to take the plunge again and search for another building we could work our magic on. The building we chose was The Olive Tree/The Old Plough Inn public house in Draycott near Tean. It was in an awful mess, and we knew it would be a monstrous challenge to change The Olive Tree/The Old Plough Inn into a stylish contemporary restaurant but we knew that if we put our mind to it, we would come out the other end with a restaurant to be proude of.
We wanted to offer what The Mango Tree Hanley had to the other side of Staffordshire. So it started... Here we come Staffordshire Moorlands!!!
After going over to The Olive Tree/Old Plough Inn, we decided to make it bigger, so we planned to build a conservatory to beat all conservatories on the back, giving us more floor space and an outside in feeling. Work took almost a year to complete; we cannot thank the building team, electricians, kitchen fitters, joiners, plumbers and plasterers enough. Most of which were the original team that worked on The Mango Tree in Hanley. We had our grand opening in December 2007 with amazing reviews from the wonderful people of the Staffordshire Moorlands. We are pleased we can offer you something unigue in the Moorlands and continue to strive to make your every visit special.
The Mango Tree Draycott has been open for 4 months now, and has been awarded so many certificates from the local council and health authorities. We boast a 4* safer food award and a trading standards award which have been awarded by Staffordshire Moorlands council authority. Our staff have all the necessary certificates to work within the food industry, and we have attached a copy of our employment policy and details. If you would like to apply for a post at The Mango Tree Draycott, please keep an eye on the news page for details of employment opportunities.
